Miller Joins PRC as Director of Acquisitions
(Denver) Public Radio Capital (PRC) today named
Robin Miller Director of Acquisitions. Her primary responsibility will be to work with
Managing Director Marc Hand in managing transactions for PRC’s clients.
"This is a major addition to the resources PRC can marshal to protect and secure public radio
stations and services," said Marc Hand. "Robin brings extensive experience in negotiating
media transactions and knowledge of FCC broadcast regulations. Her talent and insight will be
of enormous importance to PRC and our partners in the increasingly complicated business of
acquiring new channels for public radio."
Prior to joining PRC, Robin was Director of Programming at EchoStar Satellite, LLC where she
negotiated major distribution deals with top programmers for distribution on EchoStar's "DISH
Network". As a corporate media attorney, she has represented major media entities as the senior
associate in a nationally recognized media practice at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, a leading New
York law firm. Before that, as a regulatory attorney in Washington, D.C., Robin represented
broadcasters before the FCC.
Prior to attending law school, Robin was a corporate media producer in New York City, where
she managed all creative, technical, budgetary and personnel matters for an award-winning,
independent video production company. Robin graduated summa cum laude from State
University of New York in Albany and from GW Law School with honors.
Public Radio Capital’s primary purpose is to partner with educational institutions and public
broadcasters to broaden the reach of public radio to millions of listeners. PRC has already
achieved results with public radio stations secured in Albany, Baltimore, Denver, Frederick
(Maryland), Nashville, Portland (Oregon), Sacramento, Tacoma, and outside Boston and
Chicago. These channels represent partnerships to build stronger public radio program services
for larger and growing audiences. Other projects will result in new arrangements and program
services in at least 15 other states within the next few years.
