Public Radio Capital Appoints Anne Benedict Hovland
As Director of Development
July 17, 2007 (DENVER, Colo.) - Public Radio Capital (PRC), the public radio industry’s leading advisor in planning, acquiring and financing new public radio channels, has appointed Anne Benedict Hovland as Director of Development.
Hovland, who consulted for PRC earlier in the year, is responsible for developing general philanthropic support for PRC projects, the new Public Radio Fund, and assisting clients with strategic development as needed.
Her more than 30 years of experience in development, management, and marketing includes a long and distinguished association with public radio. At one of the nation’s largest public radio networks, Minnesota Public Radio, Hovland lead the organization’s fundraising efforts as chief development officer for 12 years. She also served as the chairman of the board for DEI, a fundraising and marketing service organization for public radio, in the late ’90s.
Previous to joining PRC, Hovland served as executive vice president of development for the Hazelden Foundation for four years. Since 1975, she has headed efforts that have raised more than $130 million for public broadcasting, higher education, health care and the arts.
